Court Briefs, Records, and Dockets

The Law Library is one of only ten law schools that serves as a depository for U.S. Supreme Court records and briefs in paper.

The Law Library also holds the records and briefs for the Indiana Supreme and Appellate Courts.

All our Court Records and Briefs are located in the ALF (Auxilliary Library Facility). Request these materials through IUCAT.

United States Supreme Court Records and Briefs

• Bound volumes, 1925 to date, located at the ALF.  Retrieve via IUCAT.

U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit Records and Briefs

• 1982 to 2000, located at the ALF.  Retrieve via IUCAT.

• 7th Circuit Briefs needed before 1982 can be ordered from the Chicago Federal Records Center

Indiana Supreme Court Briefs

• 1938 to 2016/2017, located at the ALF.  Retrieve via IUCAT.

Indiana Court of Appeals Briefs

• 1980 to 2016/2017, located at the ALF.  Retrieve via IUCAT.
