Rare Books

The Law Library's rare book collection holds around 1000 titles and includes a particularly strong collection of early American territorial and state laws. The collection consists of American works printed before 1877, and early English and Continental European works printed before 1850. All items may be searched on IUCAT. The Rare Books Room provides scholars with a comfortable environment for consulting the collection. Please contact us if you would like to view the collection or if you have any questions about the Law Library's rare books. Indiana University's Lilly Library has an extensive collection of legal and historical rare books.
