The Indiana State Board of Law Examiners is responsible for licensing attorneys to practice law in the State of Indiana. Admission to the Indiana Bar is through a bar examination. The Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) is administered twice a year- on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of February and July. The UBE consists of six (6) Multistate Essay Examination (MEE) questions, two (2) Multistate Performance Test questions (MPT), and the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE). Subjects tested on the exam are listed here.
To find bar admission requirements in other states, consult the NCBE's Comprehensive Guide to Bar Admissions Requirements website. It has separate pages for information on the rules and regulations, character and fitness requirements, legal education requirements, UBE jurisdictions, Next Gen Bar jurisdictions, and more.
