Locating International and Foreign Law Journal Articles: Home

Describes sources and methods for locating journal articles on foreign and international law subjects.

Introduction

Law journal articles can be an important source of information in foreign and international legal research for the following reasons:

  • articles can provide a useful overview of a broad subject or detailed analysis of a narrow subject.
  • article footnotes may provide specific needed information, such as a citation to legal authority (e.g. treaty or statute)  or a source (e.g. book, loose-leaf, or web site)  in which legal authority can be found.

The purpose of this guide is to introduce periodical indexes and full text sources in which the researcher can locate law review articles on foreign and international legal subjects, as well as articles in related areas, such as international relations, economics, and social policy.
