1L Resources

A guide to resources for help studying in the 1L curriculum

Library Collection Policies

The Law Library does not maintain a policy to collect every case book used in Maurer Law courses, nor do we regularly collect study aids in various legal subject areas.  However, if you browse our collections, you will find that we do have some case books, study aids, and the like that you may find helpful in your studies this year.  This page highlights a few of the Criminal Law books that may aid your studies.

If you'd like to browse the rest of our Criminal Law collection, you will find the books in call numbers KF 9218-9219.9 most pertinent.  These books can be located on the 2nd floor of the stacks.

General Study Resources

While each page of this guide has specific resources for study in distinct 1L courses, there are some general resources you should know about:

  • Exam File - access past exams from a variety of Maurer Law courses that professors have chosen to make accessible to students; by clicking the link, you will be prompted to enter your IU credentials to access these files; the Exam File link can also be found on the Law Library homepage, under Study Aids
  • Study aids - see home page of this guide for details
  • CALI Lessons - CALI, Computer Assisted Legal Instruction, offers online tutorials covering an array of legal subjects; you will need a student log-in to access these lessons, and these log-in cards can be obtained from the Reference Office in the Law Library
